Celebrating a Heroine

27-year veteran Nancy F. Reese was the first female Columbus Police officer to earn a commercial pilot certification. She was the eye in the sky on dark nights assisting on ground operations from above. “Reeser” was a kickboxing coach and held several detective roles behind her shield. These roles were fostered by an unwavering commitment to justice and service to her community.

Off duty, she never clocked out. “Nanc” was a single mom of two, determined to set a standard that would make her boys men. Transferring from on-duty attire to work clothes, she renovated her investment properties with J.T. and Marcus. It was common for them to live in what some consider a construction zone for weeks on end! Teaching them the value of quality work developed their character as two budding young men.

We recognize Nancy as an example of what it means to be a true hero and parent— showing courage, strength, and dedication in all she did.

I was renovating houses with my mom by the time I could walk and hold a brush, painting was always my job because no one else wanted to do it! I personally have a passion for painting because I find the aesthetic to be relaxing. I approach each project campaign like my mom is watching over my shoulder!”
